now in my twenty-third year of teaching in the Ligonier Valley School District and I still love it! I spent my summer attending three different training sessions. I took a workshop in which I learned how
to sew with programmable circuits, creating a light up apron, a bookmark and a jacket that plays a tune that
syncs with LEDs. I attended 2 sessions at the Pittsburgh Children's Museum and learned about Makers' Spaces.
Finally, I attended an FCS workshop where I learned about connections that can be made between science and
food as part of the STEM or STEAM movement. I've been learning how to use the new updated version of a
student workbook I use to teach students how to use a checking account. There is now an online component that
allows students to track their accounts electronically. I love to learn and I hope I can inspire and foster that love
of discovery in the students I teach.
Please consider taking the "Developing Child" and/or "Foods and Nutrition" classes I teach. I promise you will learn
many useful skills.
